Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) test aims to determine the concentration of oxidizable and biodegradable organic compounds in water. The test most often runs for a five day period. Its widest application is in measuring waste loading of treatment plants, and in evaluating the efficiency of treatment processes. CheckLight scientific development team has developed a unique technology for determination of BOD in water in only 3-4 hours.

Principle- The tested water sample is pre-hydrolysed with acid and exposed to the bacteria. The obtained level of luminescence reflects the concentration of utilizable organic carbon compounds in water.
